Samuel holds a dual Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and Woodwind Performance from Berklee College of Music. Attending New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study, he focused on Jewish Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. He is currently a Ph.D candidate in Ethnomusicology at the CUNY Graduate Center in New York City. Samuel has extensive teaching experience, including private students, small and large groups, camp, synagogue, Jewish day school and Jewish community settings.
Samuel was appointed as a special representative of Birthright Israel to meet various MKs at a conference in the Israeli Knesset in 2001 to talk about Jewish education and committment to community.
As a saxophonist, clarinetist, percussionist, vocalist, and composer, Samuel performs a varying repertiore of music which includes Jazz, Classical, Funk, Hip-hop, and many world styles including Klezmer, Ladino, North and West African, and Indian. He is also owner/operator of SRT Productions, a graphic design firm specializing in print and web based graphic arts.
