Challenge Create a stylish yet subdued look. Work with a low budget. Have a strong branding in place. Solution CDs and packaging in general is an exciting undertaking. I love connecting with the user and their appreciation for visuals and touch. For this reason alone I believe the CD will always live on even in the time of the MP3. Knowing your audience is extremely important. In this piece I wanted a slick jazz element mixed with rustic art. This really represents the dichotomy in music itself, polished and raw. Creating a logo that would be a strong branding was very important to this project. The typographical choice prevailed due to the strong illustrations. But the great thing about this typography is the graphic element of it. The budget was a concern. Through creating all imagery in-house (illustration and photography) and by printing 4-color/2-color, this was accomplished. A positive on the color choice is that the type on the inside really stands out when contrasted against only one other color. | ||||
